Nicole Vickridge

Consulting Arborist & Registered Town Planner

Nicole’s love of plants started at a young age, influenced by her Grandparents who were passionate gardeners - she grew up touring Horticulture and Camellia shows across country NSW with them. Her Grandpa (Thomas James Savige) was awarded the Order of Australia Medal for services to Horticulture and later a Master of Science (Agriculture) (Honoris Causa) by Sydney University for his work on The International Camellia Register.

In 2022 following a lifelong interest in trees Nicole completed a graduate certificate in arboriculture at the University of Melbourne and received the Scott Sharpe Award for Arboriculture Excellence.

Her understanding of the many and varied issues impacting trees in urban environments comes from twenty years working as a town planner across roles in Government and consulting and a deep curiosity about all things trees. She has an intimate knowledge of the Victorian Planning System and the local planning policies and controls relating to tree protection and the natural environment; having written a wide range of planning policies on behalf of a range of client

 

A skilled communicator she can provide clients with a valuable blend of experience across tree management and town planning matters.

Nicole is experienced in the following:

  • Project management and report writing

  • Assessment of planning permit triggers

  • Drafting vegetation controls and writing local planning policies

  • Arboriculture construction impact assessments

  • Tree Management on construction sites

  • Database management

Qualifications

  • Graduate Certificate in Arboriculture

  • Bachelor of Applied Science (Planning) Hons.

  • Member of the Planning Institute of Australia (Registered Planner grade)

  • Registered User of Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA)

  • Working with Children check

  • Construction Induction (Red card)

  • First Aid Level 2
